What it means to be doing well and who is the one making that decision

10. April 2016, I hear this sentence on a broadcast “...which profession should you put your children into, so that they will make a lot of money...” That sentence is possibly the key to the unhappiness of many people. How can a parent or anyone else decide what is best for someone else? Whether it is to make a lot of money or about anything else. Everybody should have the opportunity to choose for themselves what they what to spend their time on and what they are going to be good and successful at. A child can have an entirely different idea on what it means to be happy and to be doing well. I wouldn’t underestimate children at all in this.

As for choosing an occupation, I see around myself that those who are the happiest are those that chose to make their own path, even though this choice may have differed from their parents' wishes.
