Mortgages sometimes cause employees to tolerate the actions of superiors and colleagues. Actions, which would not be normally accepted. They would maybe search for a job that pays less, but where they would be treated appropriately.
It has even been expressed in one company, that the best employee is the one with kids and a mortgage....
This is not OK. Leaders and the culture in companies will not change quickly if this continues. The motivation is fear. But this is no longer the modern way.
Hope could be found in our current, low unemployment. Change in the work place is easier in at least some fields....
After, maybe some managers will come to realize something...
